About ::
Reggaeton represents a combination of several different musical styles and has influences from various countries in the Caribbean, South America and the US. Without a doubt it is most closely associated with Puerto Rico, where the music has become most famous and popularized. Most stars originate from Puerto Rico but over time the music has become more and more an international phenomenon.

More Reggaeton Info
Reggaeton is a form of music which during the late 90's became popular with Latin American youth. This style of music also spread to North American, European and Japanese audiences in the early 2000's. It blends music influences of reggae and dancehall with those of Latin America, such as cumbia,bomba and plena, as well as that of hip hop from NY.The music is also combined with rapping (generally) in just Spanish and sometimes with a mix of English as well. Reggaeton has empowered much of the Spanish Speaking youth around the world, specifically those of Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia, The Dominican Republic , Venezuela, as well as the U.S Latin Americans and communities. While it takes influences from hip hop and reggae/dancehall, it would be incorrect to define the style as the 'Latino'- version of either of these genres; reggaeton has its own specific beat structure and rhythm, whereas Latin hip hop is simply hip hop recorded by artists of Latino descent. The distinguishing feature in it's structure is the Dem Bow beat (also spelled Dembow), which originated in a song by the Reggae artist Shabba Ranks in the mid-90's. The lyrics used also tend to be much more derived from hip hop than dancehall.
